Corrections

Corrections

Integrity, service, teamwork

The process to be hired as a correctional officer is rigorous, but if chosen, you'll join the proud ranks of peace officers in public service.

Plan to compete

Like many law enforcement agencies, BC correctional officer job openings are posted frequently and several applicants are hired from each competition to form a class. Each of our nine centres independently determines the number of new hires they require and fills classes for training accordingly from the applications received. Because each centre handles their own hiring competitions you must apply separately to each location.

Correctional officers are peace officers

You should expect our thorough application process to occur over several weeks. We make every effort to contact applicants so you will know where you're at in our screening steps. By working with our recruiting officers and ensuring you have fully completed each step, your application will proceed through the competition as smoothly and expediently as possible. If your application is unsuccessful, you will be notified.

Steps of the correctional officer application process

  • From an active correctional officer job posting, use the "submit your resume" button at the bottom of the page to enter your information and resume.
