About the BC Public Service

Salary ranges

Employees of the BC Public Service can expect competitive salary ranges at every level. For positions within the BC Government Employees' Union (BCGEU), the collective agreement defines the salary range that will be paid for each level of employment. For example, financial officers in the bargaining unit start at level 14 ($41,971–$47,623 annually); the top of the range is level 30 ($67,177–$76,911 annually). In addition, you will receive a range of benefits that average an extra 23 percent of the value of your salary.
